Bobby’s Paint & Body Shop was founded in 1984 by Bobby Seaux in Lafayette, Louisiana. What began as one man’s leap of faith during one of Acadiana’s most difficult economic moments has grown into one of the most trusted collision repair and auto body shops in southern Lafayette Parish — still family-owned and operated more than 40 years later.
Our Story
In 1984, Bobby Seaux made a decision that most people around him would have called risky. He left the oilfield industry, where he had spent years working as a welder, to open his own collision repair shop in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The timing could not have been harder. Acadiana was in the grip of a devastating oil bust — the kind that emptied neighborhoods and shuttered businesses across the region. There were bumper stickers on cars around Lafayette that said it plainly: “Last one to leave Lafayette, turn off the lights.” The economy was in freefall, and there was no promise of work.
Bobby opened his doors anyway.
More than four decades later, Bobby’s Paint & Body Shop stands as a testament to what he built during those uncertain early years. Married to his wife Debbie since 1979, Bobby and Debbie raised five children in Acadiana — many of whom remain active in the day-to-day life of the business today. The shop that one man started in the middle of an economic crisis has grown in ways he could not have imagined on that first day in 1984.
Bobby has always been direct about what he believes made it possible. He will be the first to tell you that everything he has achieved is God-given, and that through hard work and character, anything is possible. That belief shaped the culture at Bobby’s from the beginning — a culture built on taking care of employees and customers in the same way, with kindness, professionalism, and skill.
That culture is still here. You can see it in the employees who have worked at Bobby’s for decades. You can see it in the customers who have been bringing their vehicles here for generations. And you can see it in the reputation Bobby’s has built as one of Acadiana’s most trusted names in collision repair.
We are proud to have been part of this community since 1984, and we look forward to serving you, your family, and your friends for decades to come.
A Family Business, Four Decades Strong
Bobby’s Paint & Body Shop has always been more than a business — it’s a family enterprise rooted in Acadiana. Bobby and Debbie Seaux built this shop alongside raising their five children, and that family commitment is visible every single day in how the business is run.
Two of Bobby and Debbie’s children work here today. Brandon Seaux joined the family business six years ago, and Kellie Seaux Vincent has been part of the team for six years as well. Tyler Seaux has been with the shop for 19 years. When you call Bobby’s, there’s a good chance you’re talking to a Seaux.
When you bring your vehicle to Bobby’s, you’re not dealing with a corporate chain or an absentee owner. You’re dealing with a family that has deep roots in this community and a personal stake in every repair that leaves this shop.
Our Team
The people who work at Bobby’s Paint & Body Shop are what makes this place truly different from any other body shop in Lafayette. Bobby has always believed in taking care of his employees the same way he takes care of his customers — and the numbers tell that story better than anything else.
Half of our 22-person team has been with Bobby’s for a decade or more. Here are eleven of our people and how long they’ve called Bobby’s home:
| Team Member | Years with Bobby’s |
|---|---|
| Armando Gamboa | 34 years |
| Ronnie Broussard | 33 years |
| Jeff West | 30 years |
| Terry Domingue | 23 years |
| Tyler Seaux | 19 years |
| Yurian Chavez | 18 years |
| Todd Albarado | 15 years |
| Greg Varn | 9 years |
| Austin Benoit | 7 years |
| Brandon Seaux | 6 years |
| Kellie Seaux Vincent | 6 years |
That’s 170 combined years of experience — at one shop, in one community.
Armando Gamboa joined Bobby’s just eight years after the shop opened its doors. Ronnie Broussard has been here for 33 years. These aren’t employees who are passing through — they’re craftsmen who chose to build their careers here. When you bring your vehicle to Bobby’s, the person working on it has likely seen and repaired thousands of vehicles just like yours.
That kind of experience and stability is rare anywhere. In the auto body industry, it’s almost unheard of.
